Think natural, cream, earth tones...

Or maybe you like bolder colors! Every client who books with me gets a style guide that includes my recommendations on colors, patterns, textures, fits, etc.. But, at the end of the day the most important thing about your outfit is this: do you feel good in it? And I mean GOOD. Are you comfortable? Do you like the way it fits you? Does it compliment your body? Because if you wear something you're truly comfortable and confident in it will SHINE through in the photos! So then, on the flip side, if you wear something you're not comfortable in you will be able to see it when your gallery is delivered back to you.

Say yes to the dress...

Here's the deal: I will ALWAYS suggest you opt for the long, flowy dresses and skirts because they look amazing on camera they bring extra movement to the photos. There are so many beautiful poses we can create with a long flowy dress! Cute, shorter-length dresses photograph beautifully as well and this would also give you an opportunity to show off any killer heels you may have! Trust me when I say dresses and skirts always look the most stunning on camera :)

If you're a mom and you're prepping to style the whole family here's rule number one: dress yourself FIRST. I know, I know, me first? YES! The rest of the family's outfits will coordinate with yours. I usually recommend staying away from bold colors or patterns because it will take the focus off of you and the love you share for those around you and place the focus and attention on your outfit instead. Lastly, don't forget the manicure and to apply a little more makeup than you typically would. It's all in the details!

When it comes to dressing your man...

Let him choose! Trust me, you want him to feel confident and comfortable in what he's wearing as well. However, remind him that if you're wearing a gorgeous dress that he's going to want to dress to impress as well. Here are a few recommendations: khaki pants, dress pants, blazer, and solid button down shirts. Think about accessorizing with ties, bowties, suspenders, vests, or a watch.

If you have kids joining your session...

Think about adding something fun to their outfits as well. Maybe a tulle skirt or flower crown for a girl or a bowtie for any young men.

Lastly, at the end of the day, the outfits you choose and the accessories you select won’t matter nearly as much as your love for each other and the time you spend together. And you're already dressed up so go out for dinner, drinks, or ice cream after your session!
